History.
Dayna Elefant is a strategic creative recognized for excellence in illustration and design, helping organizations organizations communicate with clarity, simplicity, and impact. Her work spans brand identity systems, publications, campaigns, and exhibitions, and has appeared internationally on hundreds of postage stamps, bestselling books, magazines, and consumer products.
Dayna graduated with honors from both the University of Florida and Parsons School of Design in New York City. Her postgraduate studies include coursework at the School of Visual Arts, the Smithsonian Institution, and The Art Students League of New York, where she also led courses in drawing and anatomy. She earned a degree in Web Development and Digital Arts from Boston University and is currently pursuing a degree in UX Design through the UX Design Institute. Dayna has lived and worked extensively in New York City and now resides in Washington, DC.
She has held senior leadership roles throughout her career, including Design Director at the New York City Economic Development Corporation, where she led major initiatives such as the Times Square redevelopment campaign and the City of New York’s official business branding. She later founded her own New York–based practice, serving a diverse client roster that included Sony, AT&T, the United Nations, American Express, Ralph Lauren, Tiffany & Co., and UNICEF.
After relocating to Washington, DC, Dayna played a pivotal role in the transformation of The E.W. Scripps Company into the Scripps Media Center, leading product and brand development for HGTV, Food Network, and other major media brands. She later served as Senior Manager and Creative Director at ASAE, where she helped shape global brand strategy and flagship events.
Dayna has consulted with Fortune 500 companies, institutions, U.S. government agencies, museums, and associations to develop marketing and educational collateral, advertising campaigns, websites, mobile interfaces, and exhibit graphics.
She is currently a Senior Health Communications Manager and Creative Director at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, producing designs and illustrations in support of more than 360 federal agencies and reaching 1.8 million federal employees. In parallel, she continues to create artwork for children’s books, corporate and private commissions, and postage stamps worldwide.
Dayna’s work has been widely published and recognized with numerous creative awards. She has served on the board of AIGA and remains an active member of the design community.
